14 karat Yellow Gold signet style Bloodstone Ring

Designed as a signet style ring, this large buff top bloodstone is bezel set within a 14 karat yellow gold ring, that sits low to the finger making it very easy to wear. The oval bloodstone measures approximately  15 x 12 millimeters. The ring is high polish finished and currently a size 7.5 and can be sized.  Bloodstone, also known as heliotrope, is a green variety of chalcedony, a type of cryptocrystalline quartz. What sets bloodstone apart is the presence of red to brownish-red specks or spots, resembling drops of blood, scattered throughout the green background. These red inclusions are typically caused by the presence of iron oxide. Bloodstone is an alternative for a march birthstone.
