Edwardian Cushion Cut Sapphire Ring Set With Pear Shape Diamond Accents in Platinum attributed to Charlton & Co.

Description

An exceptional hand made,  platinum, Edwardian, sapphire and diamond ring. The focal point of the ring is a beautiful dark blue cushion brilliant cut sapphire weighing 3.18 carats, accompanied by a GIA gemological report, stating the sapphire has been heat treated , the sapphire is set in a fine milgrained bezel. Flanking either side of the sapphire is an old cut pear shaped diamond of DE color and VS2 clarity also set in a fine milgrained bezel. Together the 2 pear shaped diamonds weigh approximately 2.27 carats. There are 86 single cut diamonds surrounding the sapphire and pear shape diamonds that are Pavé set around the ring weighing approximately 1.10 carats. The ring extremely well made. On the inside of the shank the letters “CHAR”  are engraved, but the rest cannot be made out due to wear. Therefor we are attributing the ring to Charlton and Co. A new York Jewelry firm founded in 1909. Back in the day Charlton was on par with the likes of Yard, Tiffany and Co and Cartier, and is still extremely collectable today.
