About our Buying Process

Lippa’s is one of the strongest and largest buyers of Estate Jewelry in the area. We are interested in single pieces as well as large family estates that span multi-generations. We will sit down with you and discuss what you have and educate you about your pieces in a no-pressure discussion so you can make the best decision for you and or your family. There is never a fee for us to make an offer and no obligation on your part to accept our offer. In most instances, we will write you a check on the spot for your jewelry and watch collection. In some instances, we will offer to consign your pieces (sell them on your behalf) or suggest other ways to liquidate your pieces. Privacy is extremely important to us we understand it is to you as well. All transactions are held strictly confidential.

To note, we do not buy lab-grown or lab-enhanced diamonds or gemstones. If you are unsure if your stones are natural, we are happy to test them. We have a Diatrue diamond tester which you can learn more about here. We don’t charge for these appointments. The first step is to make an appointment with Mike, the owner, who does all of the buying for the store. There you can leave a short description of the jewelry you have. He may request a picture and or description before your appointment. 

Once you have confirmed your appointment and bring the jewelry you intend to sell, Mike will test and verify all of your pieces. This involves testing and weighing the gold/metal for karat and verifying the metal is solid and real. He will also test the diamonds and gemstones to make sure they are natural, as well as give a rough carat weight to the stones. 

If any of your pieces fit with our collection, Mike will make you an offer. We like to be picky but fair, just because something is real or in great condition does not necessarily mean that we are going to offer it. If you receive an offer, you are under no obligation to accept of course. If you do, we will give you a check and you’re on your way! We also offer trade-in value for ‘store credit’, as well as money towards a custom piece you are making or revitalizing with us.
