We bought the late Victorian brooch conversion without the center stone and decided to put the beautiful custom-cut 5.82-carat amethyst cabochon in the center. There are approximately 5.5 carats of single-cut, old mine-cut, rose-cut, and old European-cut diamonds throughout the brooch. As you can see from the back this piece was definitely part of something more grandiose at one point in its life!
