Call for PriceAn very rare matched pair of Victorian hinged bangle bracelets created in 14k yellow gold and black enamel designs with an all-over-textured “engr” surface. The engraved depressions are filled with black enamel to enhance the design, called “taille d’epargne” or “black enamel tracery.” We have here have a floral | foliate | cusped | scrolled motif. We estimate these to have been made around 1860 – 1870. Engraved in the inside of each bracelet is the name “Helen Welsh Henderson.” They measure 6″ in diameter and would fit a small to medium sized wrist. It is very rare to find a matched pair of cuff bracelets in such great condition. We are very pleased to be offering these as a pair as to keep the integrity and the ideals of the time alive. Victorian women often wore bracelets as a matched pair. Many jewelry forms of the Victorian time period may have been die-stamped by machine while engraving, enameling, and finishing were done by the skill of the craftsman.
