Schlumberger was born in 1907 in France. He was hired by Tiffany & Co. in 1956, and is only 1 of 4 designers that Tiffany & Co. has allowed to sign their pieces. In 1958 he was the 1st jewelry designer to win a Coty American Fashion Critics Award- thought of as the Oscars for fashion. His designs are iconic to those familiar with jewelry and Tiffany & Co. and such famous people as" The Dutchess of Windsor, Elizabeth Taylor, Gloria Vanderbilt, Audrey Hepburn (Breakfast at Tiffany's) and Jacqueline Kennedy.
